Business Idea – How To Generate It Easily For New Entrepreneur

By: Leon Reinhart

One problem usually counter many new entrepreneurs are that they do not know what venture to go although they have got the capital. This is one of crucial step blocking them to go further. A lot of people said "I'm going to start a new business someday" and then nothing happens because they just not know what to go. This article shows you how to generate business idea easily.

As a new entrepreneur, you do not have to start with something very sophisticated. Unless you are a technological genius it is a waste of time. You could start something that is under looked by many people but actually it posses great potential. My favorite example is Starbucks.

Starbucks could differentiate their business by going into a new concept. If they just sell coffee like others they will not be big as people know them now.

Business idea could be generated easily if you know how. First, take a paper then jolt down "Things About Me". Please be honest because it is important to generate your business idea. I am going to help you by giving some important point:

What are you good at?

Maybe you got special skills, hobbies, or some fact that make people like something about you. Your strengths are one of your important capitals as an entrepreneur. For example if you are extremely good baking your favorite cookie that make your friend beg you to give your recipe you could make it as a business too.

What are you bad at?

You could make your weakness a business idea too. One of my entrepreneur friends owns his successful sushi restaurant. He likes sushi but do not how to make it, at the same time he found that there is no sushi restaurant in his town. Then he hires a sushi chef from Japan and starts his own sushi restaurant. Now he makes a killer success.

Is there any particular product you want but there is none in the market?

You could tap into a new market by becoming pioneer and it is a good thing, but do not forget to do some research to find out whether your product or service will be bought by many people.

Is there any particular product that could make your life lazier?

I do not know why but people love products like this!

Any problem you encounter in your workplace?

You could create new product or service by giving solution to this problem.

What do you want to change from your community?

Maybe your community needs something and you could solve it. Do not take it easily; it could become a successful business too. For example, if your community lack of clean water because there is some problem with the water there you could supply clean water to your community.

The possibilities are unlimited. You could also listen to your family, friend, and neighbors. Ask them what they need. Another way is to find another successful business model from other entrepreneur and differentiate it or do better than them. After you have got your idea do not forget to do market research. I always urge new entrepreneur to do it. It is crucial and will determine whether your business is a success or a failure.

I am going to help you with your calculation. This is my favorite checklists and I always give it to my entrepreneur friend if they ask me what to consider before launching a business.

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of your product or service?
2. Do people really need it?
3. Do you have any background or experience in this field?
4. Is your product user-friendly or not?
5. Do you have the required skills to do this business?
6. When the idea could be executed?
7. What problems need to be solved?
8. Do you need any professional help or you could do it yourself?
9. What are the risk and how you could reduce the risk?
10. Check the law and regulation about your business.
11. What promotional and advertising effort needed?
12. Could you compete in the market?
13. Is the business long run or just seasonal?
14. Does the business fill your sense of status?
15. Do you feel that your business fit your goal and objectives?
16. Can you still survive if you failed your business?
17. Do you need extra capital and where to get it?
18. Check the location of your business.
19. Can the market afford your product or will they buy it?
20. Does the business meet your investment, income, or profit margin percentage target?

Ask your friend about your business. So you would know what is still missing and still need repairmen. Do not be afraid someone will steal your business idea. It is just rarely. Too many people worries and skeptical whether your business will be a success even when they already knew it will be a success. Oh believe me, it does happen! Have self confidence. Do your homework and do calculation carefully. Then launch your business. Good luck for your journey as entrepreneur.
